Junior and the Swamp Pop Player's News
Junior, born Norwood LaCrosse, Jr., says that as long as he can remember he's had a craving for playing keyboard and performing.  Junior, a 19 year old, got his first keyboard at the age of 12.  Junior played and eagerly learned various chords and finger positions on the keyboard.  Junior's second keyboard was a larger Yamaha keyboard.  With it Junior even progressed more and finally got up the nerve to play at local nursing homes with an established band.  If he didn't know the chords, he turned down the volume.  It was at these same nusring homes where Junior really got up the nerve to try his life long dream; sing.  Everyone who knows Junior knows that he has a very good voice.  After about three appearances with the band at these nursing homes, Junior gave it a try.  Out rang "Mathilda".  Junior quickly got the attention of the elderly residents of the nursing homes as well as the employees.  From there, well, here he is performing all over the Metrolpolitan New Orleans area.

Junior put together his band, Junior and the Swamp Pop Player's band, formerly Junior and the Cajun Hustler's Band.  To his credit, Junior has several songs that he wrote and produced himself.

Junior is lead vocalist, of course, and plays keyboard and bass.  At his side is Rick Hanks on tenor sax.  Ricks also performs as backup vocals for Junior.  Danny Alexander performs as Junior's guitar palyer and back up vocals.  The drummer of the band, Keith Arabie, also does backup vocals.

At the age of 19, there seems to be no end to what this youngster can do by way of music.  He continues to improve and strives for excellence.
